The Human Milk Foundation confirms that co-founder Dr Natalie Shenker MBE, has stepped down from operational responsibility of the charity to focus on her research leadership interests. We are exceedingly grateful for Natalie’s instigation of the charity and its foundation to be supplying donor human milk to over 50 neonatal units around the country and the operation of 6 hubs to enable local supply and support regionally.
Tina Crombie, Interim Chair of Trustees comments “Our thanks go to Natalie for her vision and energy in co-founding and establishing the charity to widen the availability of human milk through the provision of screened and processed donor milk and lactation support services, as well as pursuing the science behind human milk use and supply. Our dedicated team, human milk donors, many volunteers (including members from many of the UK’s Blood Bike Groups) and supporters have all been inspired by this vision. We wish Natalie every success as she pursues her research leadership aims”.
