Jo & Chris tell their amazing story
Twin girls Seren & Rowan were born two months early. As with many tiny babies born premature, they spent their first 10 days in neonatal intensive care. Mum Jo was very unwell with pre-eclampsia following the birth and needed time to recover so was unable to feed them with her own milk initially. We provided donor milk for the twins and supported Jo and dad Chris through this difficult time.
Jo says “Sitting in the obstetric close observation unit, desperately trying to express my own milk, fluid restricted due to dangerously low sodium levels and unable to visit my babies was horrendous. When Chris arrived with the cooler containing the donor milk I sobbed with relief and gratitude. It made the difference between despair and hope. Thank you so much.”
The twins have grown up and are now two wonderful little three year olds with lots of energy!
